I have been using the model 58 for a couple of years now, and I can tell you it is the toughest shovel I have ever used. Metal detecting in Upstate New York exposes one to a wide variety of groung conditions, and the Little Eagle has come through in every setting. A very well made unit, nice size, smart handle configuration. I even built a snap-in clip style holder for it so I can carry it on my belt while hunting. I will not go metal detecting without it, period.
When I bought the model 58, I also bought a model 31 Raptor. It looks to be another fine tool but I can't really comment on it. I have been so impressed with the Little Eagle that I havn't even used the Raptor yet.

I have been detecting since the early seventies and have used every digging implement known to man. I used my wifes digger that she used in her garden. It was supposed to be of a professional grade. The darned handle broke off the first day I used it. When I got my DFX from Kellyco it came with a Gator digger. About the second day I used it, the thing bent so bad I had to stand on it and bend it back into shape. The soil was mostly all clay and was hard. I had to tig weld a soild rod on the front of it to keep it from bending again. Although it was free with the DFX it wasn't worth anything for any serious digging. Then I got the Predator tool.

I went to the same place where I bent the Gator and it never bent and just kept on digging. It is by far the very best digging tool I have ever used and can recommend it without any hesitation at all. I have even pryed up larger rocks with it without any problems. In my humble opinion there isn't anything that can compete with it unless you take a backhoe with you. I let a couple of my buddies try it and they both got one of their own. If you buy anything else you are just wasting your money. The darned thing even seems to get sharper and better as you use it. The Predator cuts into roots so good I don't even carry my garden shears anymore.

As I tell my friends "You have used the rest now try and buy the best".

Ive just got say that Ive been using one of your tools for over 9 years and it has performed above and beyond what it should have in the tough, rocky soil of North Central Texas. Ive had it welded once even because it was in the middle of the relic hunting season here but to no avail. Im writing this to say Im ordering another digging tool from you and Im very confident that its the VERY best on the market! Id never use anything else. Ive sold my detecting buddies on over ten tools and I will continue to be your best salesman here, lol. Ive never written to anyone else before but I thought that I just had to. Keep up the great work. Ill be digging with you in the future.

My thanks go out to your company for delivering a tool that is worth every penny I've paid for it. Prior to using the Mauler 322 the one downside to metal-detecting was having to dig the item detected. Now with less toil and great ease I am able to pluck the item from the ground with no difficulty whatsoever. Thanks again, you have added back the joy I once had with my outings digging for items and more importantly you've saved me time and effort. Your tools are well made and dependable, thanks.

Proud owner of a Predator Raptor - Model 31

A few months ago, I was speaking with George Lesche about my many years of sucessful relic hunting on sites in my hometown area and how much I enjoyed using his "Fantastic Relic Pro (model 57) Shovels". He asked me at that time to try out one of his newest designs "The Raptor".

Well George, You have done it once again; created a superb relic hunting tool!!!

When relic hunters come to the Champlain Vally in upstate N.Y. or Vermont, they are immediately taken back and discouraged by the extreme difficulty in digging in our summer dry clay soils. It is sometimes like litterally digging in concrete!! The Lesche Relic shovels have in the past, been the ony digging tool that will measure up to these conditions. Never have my partner or myself have been able to use any small "hand tool" to any great success in recovering our many F&I and Rev War artifacts.

That is until I tried the "Raptor". This "Beefy Little Beauty" with a wonderfully built in leverage handles any conditions I have submitted it to...dry hard hayfields...overgrown brush... and heavily forested areas!!

Thanks Again George, For producing and inventing such High Quality Tools which allow us to continue to unearth interesting and historicaly significant finds!!!!

Proud owner of a Predator Raptor - Model 31

Hi,

I purchased the Predator Raptor a while back and have found it to be the number one best digger that i have ever owned. I personally don't know how I made it with out the Raptor. I have bought numerous cheap diggers in the past, but no more. Once I received the Raptor, I realized what high quality equipment is all about. No more cheap junk for me, its PREDATOR all the way from now on.

If you have not tried the Raptor, you don't know what your missing its fantastic and should last a lifetime or maybe even two.

Thanks Predator people for building such a fine piece of equipment.

Thank you,
Mike Coffman

Predator Tools…The Best There Is
By Matt Cecchetti

I have been metal detecting for nine years. In that time I have unearthed many old coins and relics, but I recently learned that being good with your detector is only part of the battle. Possessing the right tools of the trade for recovering your finds is also very important. After trying many different shovels and breaking nearly all of them, I began looking for that invincible digging tool.
A short time ago, I contacted Pamela and George Lesche, owners and founders of Predator Tools. George talked with me for several minutes, taking the time to explain his different digging tools and their adaptability in the field. He advised me his tools were the strongest tools available and each of them were hand made. Mr. Lesche informed me that his tools were made of aircraft quality steel and could withstand years of abuse. He assured me there would be a five year warranty on his tools. To make a long story short, I now own six of his digging tools: two Maulers, a Little Eagle, the Model 85, the Relic Pro, and he recently send me his new Raptor hand digger to field test. These tools put a new meaning to the word strong and each digger has its benefits. The Mauler is good for all occasions; however, it does an excellent job reaching those deep coins and relics in fields due to its long blade. The Little Eagle and Model 85 are great tools because they can be used anywhere and dig a small, neat hole. Last but not least, the Relic Pro; this shovel is awesome in the woods and around cellar holes because it wide blade clears the leaves and roots from your recovery area with ease.
George and Pamela’s newest invention, the Raptor, really impressed me. It’s ability to get those deep targets and scoop out large amounts of soil is second to none. The Raptor is a hand digger with a pointed, contoured, wide blade. It works wonderful in areas like parks or other well-kept places in which the larger shovels may not be used. Not only is it a nice sturdy hand digger, it is bright orange and can be located easily if lost in the park or woods.
Predator Tools makes a shovel for every type of terrain. Whether you are treasure hunting in root infested soil, hard packed soil, wet soil, or even frozen soil, you’ll be able to retract your target. I have even hacked mini balls out of stumps, pried boulders out of the earth, and chopped through frozen ground with the Mauler! So… are Predator Tools the best in the metal detecting industry? In my opinion, they are the best digging tools out there and should be a part of your metal detecting arsenal. You can check out some of my metal detecting finds using predator tools at http://www.findmall.com/metal/sweethome/config.pl. Please feel free to check out Pamela and George’s new Raptor and other digging tools at www.predatortools.com. Good luck in the field!
